Abstract:

Traditional and modern industries consisting of leading component of small scale industrial sector have been given important place in the framework of India economic planning. The rural industries sector has been imbued with a multiplicity of objectives, important among the generation of immediate employment opportunities in rural areas, the promotion of more equal distribution of national income, effective mobilization of untapped capital and human skills and dispersal of manufacturing activities all over the country all over the country, leading to growth of villages, small towns and economically lagging regions.
