Creating rural connectivity – Success through Mahatama Gandhi National Rural Employment Guarantee Scheme

Abstract:

Mahatma Gandhi National Rural Employment Guarantee Scheme also put emphasis on rural road connectivity activity, in addition of water conservation activities. The rural areas of state of Gujarat have comparatively good connectivity through roads with taluka headquarters and district headquarters. Now the focus is to create, connectivity within the village as well as among the villages for smooth transportation of agriculture inputs and agriculture productions. The intra village road connectivity is very important, considering preference of some the peasant communities2 for staying within their agriculture fields away from main village (Gam tal).
